Hi everyone, Erin here! I am Snowshoe local, born and raised in Pocahontas County, WV. I left for a brief time landing in Harrisonburg, VA to work on a media arts degree at JMU – Go Dukes! – and after that, I spent a little more time in school at WVU earning my Master’s in Marketing – Go Mountaineers! Now I am back in my wonderful hometown (or home county… this place is so small, we identify everything by county) and working in Snowshoe’s Marketing Department as the Marketing Manager.

I grew up skiing; my mom put my sister and I in lessons every snow day. But, with all my other projects over the last couple of years, I haven’t had the opportunity to be on the snow much. My favorite time of year on the Mountain is summer and fall; I love the cool mountain air, the events, and the outdoor activities. And not only is Snowshoe a great destination in itself, but also serves as a base camp for exploring the rest of Pocahontas County, WV which comes alive during the summer! 

Life away from the Mountain is pretty exciting right now. My husband Chad and I just recently celebrated our one-year anniversary. We spent the last couple of crazy years working on the huge project that is building a house. In June, our family grew when our little one, Tanner Whitton, was born. He’s just four months old now and has grown into an uncontrollable bundle of energy! And of course, I must not forget about our “first born”, Asterisk, a black lab / who-knows-what mix who always keeps me entertained. Besides spending time with family, I enjoy reading, gardening, blogging, hiking, and relaxing. During the summer, I spend a lot of time as a hobby beekeeper which is a blast! I am hoping to add some chickens and goats to our “farm” this summer.
