Hi everyone! I am Holly Raine DesMeules and I am currently interning in the marketing department at Snowshoe Mountain Resort. I will be a senior at High Point University in North Carolina this fall and I am looking forward to my senior year and all that is to follow, aka the real world! I am double majoring in Communications (PR) and Graphic Design. I love North Carolina and my school but I am from West Virginia and have a great love for my home state.
Growing up my mom was an art and travel West Virginia teacher at Buffalo High School and my dad owns his own glass business and he is currently the resident artist at Tamarack. This being my background it is easy to say I have traveled the state with trips of my mothers and with arts and crafts fair with my father. Always one of my favorite places was Snowshoe.
The first time I went snowboarding I was TERRIBLE and didn’t think I wanted to get on a snowboard ever again! Now that is hard to imagine. I got back on the board, didn’t give up, and now can’t imagine a winter without snowboarding. I am a snow girl at heart but I do really like the summer as well, especially a summer at Snowshoe.
I love being able to sit outside, see the mountains and enjoy the mountain breeze. I never want to be at a place that is flat. Hiking has always been something I have enjoyed and I have that opportunity all around me now. Festivals have always been a favorite of mine since I grew up in that community which gave me my love of crafts and music.
All of these come together at Snowshoe and I am so thankful for my opportunity to be here and learn from this wonderful staff in an atmosphere with sports and events I want to forever be involved with.
