This winter season at Snowshoe for me is off to a much better start, compared to last season. After an amazing day of riding on opening day in December of 09, I ended my day with an ankle sprain; epic winter season of 2009-2010 down the drain. To add insult to injury, literally, I sprained my ankle while walking up my snow covered steps. I didn’t even have a cool story go along with it like I was busting out a cab 720 off of a 40 foot jump and botched the landing. Boo. So riding most of last season was out but luckily I had amazing friends, family and co-workers to keep my spirits up when I was feeling down.
So onto the new season. I have made several runs already to make up for last season’s losses. When I’m not at work or riding, I spend most of my time at home with my family. We bought our dream house in the fall of 2008. A log cabin, nestled in the mountains with 2 acres and an AMAZING view of Snowshoe Mountain. We don’t have any kids. Who needs kids of your own when we get to play with the kids in ski and snowboard school everyday. But we do have 2 four-legged kids(cats). Picker is a year and a half and our newest addition is Lilly who is about 4 months; both rescues. Now I know everyone feels that their pets are the coolest, cutest, most amazing of all other’s pets but I’m telling you, ours really are. Trust me. Lilly is begging for attention as I write this so it’s probably time to go play with the kids, get some house work down and get ready to head back to work tomorrow. I’ll be sure to watch my step.
